Protection in a box
Intel Corp. last week launched a broadband router to help protect the security of always-on Internet connections at small and home offices.
Fast and simple
The Intel Express 8205 VPN Broadband Router takes the processing required to run VPNs (virtual private networks) and firewalls out of individual PCs and puts them in a dedicated device. “Any user can go online, and in a very simple manner, answer three questions, and they have a firewall up and running,” said Anni Birgitte Moeller, Intel product line manager. The new router is priced at $899.
