Today’s topics include recovering your business in the wake of a disaster, and CyberArk bringing Privileged Session Manager to the cloud.
In the wake of recent disasters, coming up with a flexible disaster plan for your business is a priority.
After Hurricane Michael hit Florida on Oct. 10, moving on to Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia, normal communication like cell service, landlines, television, radio, and the internet were cut out. The storm moved so fast that businesses that weren’t already prepared basically had time to evacuate and little else.
However, there are simple steps for recovering your business after a disaster: First, prioritize the health and welfare of your employees. Next, try to find out the condition of your facilities and communications. Then look for an interim location to operate your business if your facilities were damaged.
Once cell service starts getting restored, you probably won’t be able to make calls, but you can send text messages. Reach out to your leadership, assemble your employees at your facility or interim facility, and start getting the business up and running again.
CyberArk announced its new Privileged Session Manager for Cloud offering on Oct. 15, providing its customers with capabilities for managing and monitoring privileged cloud access.
Privileged Session Manager for Cloud has its roots in technology that CyberArk gained via the acquisition of cloud security provider Vaultive on March 12. CyberArk has combined its privileged account security capabilities with Vaultive’s cloud access insights to create a new product.
The offering is part of the core CyberArk Privileged Access Security Solution and is fully integrated with the CyberArk Digital Vault to ensure secure connections without exposing credentials to users or their endpoints.
